Pray for the best

I'm still waiting anxiously for my external hard drive to be fixed. Less than 1 year, the hard disk has become problematic. Well, I'm fortunate enough that it's still "less" than a year which means it's under warranty of course! I'm pretty worried for my files which are stored in that precious one-piece metal. 3 years of files and photos all hanging by the edge of the 120GB hard disk. I'm praying hard that it can be salvaged. Or else..... there goes..... *Sigh*

Have been sitting in front of the computer for the whole day since afternoon. It's been a long time since I've done this at home. Usually I'll be out at the nearest Starbucks around town, which means that now I'm really b.r.o.k.e. But quite delighted to really update on lots of stuff in my computer which has been neglected since I fell in love with books not so long ago.

Working hard to reallocate time to prepare for working later. Back to HP and will be starting work this coming Thursday. It's a challenge again to tackle between studies and working. Hopefully can cope well.

Afterall, it's another phase of my life. Hope to make the best out of it.

Real Fake

N73 for RM400. That's a real bargain but definitely suspicious too. A young Malay lad was unfortunately careless enough to fall for the deal which was pretty hard to resist. He bought a fake phone. Guess what, who're the culprit? It's our fellow good friends who are good in producing imitations from China.

If one doesn't turn on the phone, it's exactly the real thing. It looks and weighs exactly as the same. If one is not careful enough, it also sounds like the real thing when it's turned on with the typical Nokia music. It has a battery and standard housing (with appropriate stickers).

And the Malay lad was openly claiming that he "kena jampi" (casted with spell) and that the Chinese conman "kuat sembahyang macam-macam jahat punya Tuhan" (worship various evil gods). Well, I don't buy that and of course, these people are always looking for excuses for their foolish acts, to ensure that their IQ are not perceived as near to 0. Not good, it's more stupid this way.

Anyway, have to really admire these guys from China in producing this 'dummy' that really fooled many people (tried showing it to some people around, and they're amazed! Some offered higher prices to get the fake N73.) However, a word of caution to everyone out there, really really have to be careful as the fakes are becoming more real than ever.

Live Badminton

I'm so into the game of badminton now. Perhaps it's part of the heat from the Proton-BWF World Championships 2007 which is being held in Kuala Lumpur currently. Besides playing, been catching up with the competition as well. After watching the world badminton championship through the TV for several days, I've decided to go to Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil to be part of the lively crowd last Thursday (16/8/2007). Didn't really take many pictures but below are a few ones caught by the camera,

Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei against Indonesia's Kuncoro. Poor lad, he was jeered throughout his game for the poor performance by the crowd. The home player lost the game by 21-11, 21-9.

See the crowd behind me? Phew!

Not so clear... Malaysia's Hafiz against India's Anup. Last hope for Malaysian mens singles category after the bowing out of Lee but unfortunately, fell to the hands of the "long hands, long legs and everything long" (Serious, he can easily reach all ends of the court!) Anup by 21-19, 18-21, 21-15

Last game of the day for Court 4. The young Malaysian pair, Koo and Tan warming up for the game.

Another shot of them warming up before the game started.

The Polish pair are no match for the Malaysian pair who displayed a good performance of badminton throughout the game.

Get to see Rexy in person at last. Great guy with good composure. Like his attitude!

Good outing for a Thursday night. RM23 per person for the night was all worth it. Wished to see the final game on Sunday but (at the time of writing) most of the Malaysian players have been eliminated except for the veteran Malaysian pair, Chong and Lee, and ticket is all too pricey. Afterall, it's better to watch through the TV as the game is also being broadcasted live and all games will be played on the same court which means no games will be left out.

All the best for the Malaysian pair of Chong Tan Fook and Lee Wan Wah, the last hope for the country to taste success of the world championship.

Tough but great days ahead...

This semester is a one tough one. It has been like this since the first day I stepped in the first lecture. There are just too many things in my mind and hey, guess what... I like it! I've never been able to taste 'real stress' since those days, running around the Klang Valley and sometimes, peninsula to attend conferences and some events. I thought I would've been dead lazy by the end of this year and lose touch on skills on team management and socialising. I'm longing for loads of work that requires management and rushing for deadlines. Seriously, it feels great.

No doubt, it has taken its toll on me. Whenever I feel like I've nothing to do, I want to read something at least, or I'll stick with the notebook. At least I think my life is much proper now rather than wasting my time relaxing and in the end, being a low productivity individual. I'm enjoying every second of my life now. Yeehaaa!
